22 February 2010: Firm to supply 800,000 cupcakes

Irish dessert and cake producer Ina's Kitchen Desserts has signed a deal to supply luxury cupcakes to SuperValu and Centra, with the stores expecting to sell more than 800,000 of the cakes this year. Ina's Kitchen Desserts is a family-run business that employs 32 people and has been producing quality desserts such as cakes, gourmet scones and muffins for 27 years. As a result of the deal with Musgrave Retail Partners, four new jobs will be created. Commenting on the announcement, Ciara McClafferty of Musgrave's said: "We have a long-established policy of investing in local Irish produce whenever possible, thus providing our customers with top quality, fresh Irish food." Three-quarters of Musgrave's distributed products in 2009 were Irish produced or manufactured.
