29 January 2010: Lufthansa’s $40m investment to power employment now
Lufthansa Technik Airmotive Ireland (LTAI), based in Rathcoole, Co Dublin, has been chosen as an MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) site for the new IAE V2500 engine. The decision means the company will invest $40m (€29m) in equipping the operation for this engine type and implementing strategic improvement and business processes at the operation, securing the future of the site and further employment into the future. This investment is supported by the Government through IDA Ireland. At the announcement were LTAI managing director Wolfgang Moerig, with Tanaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Mary Coughlan, and chief executive of IDA Ireland Barry O’Leary.
