3 February 2010: Security merger to bring 100 new jobs

The merger between Rapier Security Group and Express Security Group to create the country's largest indigenous security firm, Synergy Security Solutions, will create 100 new jobs, it said today. Both companies had common shareholders and common directors and collectively owned and managed a number of separate entities, which have all now been consolidated under a single company structure and under one brand name. This new structure will ensure increased operational efficiencies and a simplification of processes from a customer's perspective. The company's management team plans to create a further 100 jobs through incremental growth and acquisitions before the end of 2010. The Company currently employs over 800. This number will reach 900 by the end of March.

John Lawlor, MD of Synergy Security Solutions was formerly MD of Rapier Security while Ken O'Reilly, former MD of Express Security Group is the company's Operations Director. He said that a consistent focus on quality and the delivery of innovative solutions to high end indigenous and Irish based multinational corporate customers as well as to the public sector has led to the success of the company and will help fuel its future growth.
