About the Position
As the Financial Accountant (Manufacturing Focus), you will be an integral part of the Finance Team and the Management Team, collaborating closely with the Head of Finance, Department Heads, and other members of the finance team. Your primary focus will be on managing financial accounts, with specific emphasis on month-end reporting, for our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee thecost accounting processes within a manufacturing environment, including bill of materials management, absorption costing, and stock control.
- Conduct margin analysis to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
- Utilise materials resource planning (MRP) and demand-driven planning techniques to optimize resource allocation and production schedules.
- Manage production operations from critical parts to continuous improvement projects, ensuring cost-effective and efficient manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cost optimization initiatives and support strategic business objectives.
- Develop and maintain robust cost accounting systems and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Operations and Production teams to analyse metrics, providing insights for performance improvement.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies within the retail accounting function. Overall responsibility for the journals and general ledger to ensure timely completion of month end process.
- Provide accurate month end reports to support the management accounts process with monthly review of overheads & variable costs.
Experience/Requirements
- Qualified accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA
- Accounting experience within a manufacturing/retail/FMCG environment essential
- Strong cost accouting and margin analysis experience
- Strong stakeholder management experience
- Experience of working with ERP systems is an advantage.
Remuneration Package
- Salary: €65,000 - €80,000
