Record to Report (R2R) Global Lead

About the role

Joining the rapidly growing Finance function of a leading multinational, the R2R Lead will be instrumental in developing a best-in-class R2R team leading general accounting and statutory / financial reporting teams and be a key support and lead on a number of group wide led finance systems integrations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the daily timely accounting close and reporting operations ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Review and understand material components of the monthly operating results and the Balance Sheet movements
  • Oversee and review U.S. GAAP accounting in SAP for non-recurring and/or complex transactions in conjunction with the Corporate Accounting group 
  • Apply a controls-based culture on financial oversight, identify and remediate control deficiencies as required
  • Responsible for compliance with US GAAP and statutory requirements, VAT regulations and internal controls (SOX).
  • Lead/coordinate the team to support internal audit, statutory audits, and/or external US GAAP audits
  • Coordinate global work process creation, implementation, and review
  • Actively and independently manage team and personal workload and escalate solution-orientated concerns
  • Monitor capacity, pacing, resourcingissues and any other red flag issues needing leadership attention
  • Be a people leader for the R2R employees (inclusive of General Accounting, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, and indirect tax responsibilities)
  • Set clear team goals for individual functions, and for the R2R team as a whole
  • Monitor team and individual performance through various metrics and reporting techniques
  • Conduct business partnering activities across various finance and non-finance (i.e. P2P, O2C) functions, fostering global collaboration
  • Continuously identify process improvement opportunities and efficiencies
  • Participate in strategic continuous improvement initiatives in the organization, achieving identified goals (financial, process or talent)

The Ideal Candidate for this role:

  • Qualified Accountant with 10+ years’ post qualified experience (ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CPA or similar)
  • Record to Report or Statutory / Financial Reporting experience in a Group / Global / Regional function
  • Team Management experience, preferably in a large, multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience reporting under US GAAP or IFRS within a multinational or publicly listed business
  • Demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Strong internal controls mindset
  • Proactively seeks to extend personal knowledge and looks for opportunities to share knowledge across the work group; cross functional and cross business
  • Additional language experience would be beneficial
