Mechanical Maintenance Technician

About the Company

This is an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join a diverse and innovative Medical Device manufacturing site in Cork. This client is expanding at the moment with numerous exciting projects in their pipeline.

About the Position

You will ideally have experience in a similarly regulated manufacturing environment and have worked with Moulding Machines, Assembly Equipment and Automated Production Lines.

This is an initial 12 month contract working at a site with a great culture and employee experience.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Carry out the execution of the preventative maintenance routines & repair of all production equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment related process problems & equipment failures to determine root cause hence instigate repair using the latest lean tools & techniques
  • Carry out trouble-shooting of electrical / instrument and control and mechanical problems
  • Assist in the maintenance of the plant utility equipment support the production process (including building, environment & facilities) as requested i.e. purified water systems, AHU's etc.
  • Execute and update as appropriate the existing preventative maintenance program, in order to minimize downtime and optimize plant performance.
  • Ensure that comprehensive maintenance documentation exists for each equipment item & that it is filed in an organized & legible manner
  • Develop critical spares list for the equipment & ensure that critical spares are in stock or are readily available at all times. Ensure that an effective program is then maintained
  • Ensure that all critical instruments are setup for routine calibrations on site system and that these calibrations are performed on or before the due date
  • Ensure strict compliance of GMP and SOP procedures during the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and electronic plant and systems associated with producing the finished

Experience/Requirements 

  • Must have successfully completed a Mechanical apprenticeship \ time served
  • Ideally have basic electrical experience within a production environment
  • calibration \ instrumentation experience
  • Advantageous to have a recognised electrical qualification as well
  • Minimum of years working in a Manufacturing Environment within the Medical Device and/or Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Preferable experience with CMMS Infor PM System;
  • Preferable experience with a Calibration System
  • Previous experience within an ATEX environment an advantage

Remuneration Package

This is a 12 month Agency contract. Salary is dependent on experince.
