Financial Reporting Team Lead
An exciting new position has become available for a FAR Team Lead with a global insurance provider based in Dublin.

As a Financial Accounting and Reporting Team Lead your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:
•Quarterly, bi-annual and annual QRTs and NSTs (and financial stability reporting), Finance contribution to SFCR and RSR reports and Irish GAAP Financial Statements.
•Review of branch quarterly, bi-annual and annual submissions, consolidation of information to legal entity level, production of various templates and submission to the CBI.
•Responsible for presentation of reporting to the Audit Committee on the annual results for approval and the quarterly reporting for information.
•Ensuring adequate control framework is in place and understanding control issues in the quarter
•Overall responsibility for accounting methodology for IFRS, Irish GAAP and Solvency II including working with Group APG as needed. Ensuring adequate processes in place to act on any relevant changes e.g. to Solvency II, IFRS, CBI reporting etc.
•Co-ordinating and working with actuarial, investments, capital management, reinsurance and investments, claims and underwriting to ensure completion of required reporting.
•Working with Group teams (IAA, Solvency II team, FIP team etc.) to ensure reporting requirements are met.
•Operational day to day management and support, technical accounting issues, and variance analysis during quarter and year end reporting including escalating to Financial Controller and CFO as needed.
•Responsible for overall team management including recruitment and daily management of several direct reports
•Close collaboration with the Financial & Accounting Reporting Team Lead to ensure mutual success of both the Financial & Accounting Reporting Team and the Branch Accounting team including best use of available resources and development of all team members.
Performance management accountabilities:
•Work closely with the Financial Reporting Oversight Team Leader to ensure the success of both the Financial Accounting & Reporting Team and the Branch Accountant Team.
•Lead a diverse functional team, setting objectives, reviewing performance and participating in selection decisions to ensure that staff have the necessary skills and understanding to deliver the overall Finance team´s objectives.
•Create and lead high-performing teams and complete performance management cycle for direct reports.
•Create people management plan to ensure human capability is in place as part of business planning process.
•Resolve significant business issues by creating teams of appropriate internal and external resources.
•Coach and provide technical advice and counsel within the Financial Accounting & Reporting team and the Branch Accounting team.
•Act as a Leader within the Finance team working with other team leads to ensure the success of the overall Finance team.
Your Skills and Experience
•4 years + Qualified Chartered Accountant with insurance industry experience
•Strong understanding of Irish GAAP and IFRS
•Strong understanding of the Solvency II requirement
•Ability to analyse, explain and answer technical accounting questions independently
•Previous involvement in Finance IT projects, implementing reporting efficiencies and identifying key financial controls
•Experience in SAP reporting tools (Business Explorer)
