About the Job

Working with a well-respected Tax Director, the role will evolve and change over time. The core responsibilities will centre around the following areas:


Key Responsibilities 

  • Assisting with international and domestic tax planning projects including M&A activities, intragroup financing and cash extraction strategies, internal reorganisations
  • Management of the corporation tax return process (including tax returns and payments) and liaising with third party tax advisors where the tax compliance is outsourced
  • Liaising with tax advisors in the UK and the US in respect of international tax compliance and advisory projects
  • Preparation of year end group tax provision for financial reporting purposes including liaising with the group’s external auditors in relation to any tax queries
  • Assisting with ad hoc tax queries (across all tax heads) from all departments in the group, including finance, treasury, M&A and operations
  • Assisting in managing external tax audits
  • Working with external advisors in ensuring that all transfer pricing obligations are being satisfied including documentation and country by country reporting
  • Review of business processes to identify potential tax risks and implementation of controls to mitigate same   
  • Monitoring and providing analysis of legislative and regulatory developments including an assessment of the potential tax impact on the group
  • Hands on involvement with ad hoc projects

Experience/Requirements 

  • Be a qualified CTA and ACA/ACCA with a minimum of 1-4 years post qualification experience, ideally having trained in a Big 4 firm
  • Strong international corporate tax experience is required
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate complex tax issues to both finance and non-finance personnel
  • A proactive self-starter who can work on own initiative and ensure successful completion of key tasks on time
  • Excellent organisation skills and proven attention to detail
  • A solution orientated and positive individual who can work through constraints and obstacles to an optimal solution
  • Strong teamwork skills and a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to research complex issues
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with all levels of the business
  • A highly organised individual with ability to plan and organise own workload effectively for maximum impact and who is flexible and adaptable around changing business needs
  • Is resilient and calm under pressure or when juggling multiple priorities
