IT Project Manager ( Strategy)

 

About the Company

Our client is a leading charity organisation. They have an immediate requirement for a PM who can develop an appropriate IT strategy to support their business strategy, and also to project manage a number of existing recommendations and system changes.

 

About the Position

The role requires excellent project management skills and the successful candidate should demonstrate a track record of delivery in related projects within ICT in a complex environment.

In addition to developing strategy, you will also lead a project to progress the recommendations from a range of external, ICT audit and security reports, ensuring these projects are reflected in the strategy development, systems upgrades and governance requirements already in progress.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and execute delivery of assigned IT strategy framework and governance projects to required time, cost and quality metrics.
  • Manage and communicate project status with all key stakeholders including business owners, IT Management and into Executive Leadership.
  • Control project scope through the definition of clear requirements and ensure subsequent changes are managed through a defined change control process.
  • Manage and address all project issues or risks, including scope creep, timeline etc. Ensure the strategy is properly documented to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead the strategy and governance project activities to monitor the critical path and maintain progress as planned for all tasks and milestones.
  • Manage any project resource personnel to ensure their assigned tasks are completed as planned including staff from business units, internal IT resources and external 3rd party suppliers.
  • Working in collaboration with colleagues, to plan and implement the IT Strategy within agreed timeframes, ensuring that the IT department delivers/exceeds on the agreed key performance indicators.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders including, Business Development, GDPO, Directors of Services, Internal Audit and as required Board of Directors/Trustees and any sub committees.

 

Experience/Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years working in a technical environment
  • Experience of working in a project delivery environment as a project manager
  • Previously managed the successful delivery of a Strategy document to time and quality requirements, and with evidence of stakeholder engagement.
  • Previously managed the successful progression/implementation of governance and/or external audit recommendations.
  • Ability to plan and manage all tasks and activities required to deliver projects
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) with senior stakeholders/Directors and Executive team

  • Significant experience in the ICT sector, its innovation and latest developments
  • Qualified in known project management methodologies such as PMP or Prince2 or equivalent demonstrable experience
