Role Overview:

As a core member of the Custody team you will work closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to minimize operational risks and ensure our clients experience seamless delivery across banking services. As Custody Vice President you are responsible for the overall client relationship management in Custody and demonstrates an ability to take on a multi-faceted role, leading and managing the custody teams in the areas of client relationship management, team management and client reporting.

Key Responsibilities 

Your Role:

  • You will coach, develop and provide direction of custody teams while creating an environment that motivates, rewards, and supports the team;
  • You will identify, recommend & implement areas in the team where procedures, processes, controls & client servicing arrangements may be improved & review internal controls & procedures on a regular basis;
  • You will conduct performance appraisals for team members, as well as provide training and supervision to team members;
  • You will be responsible for the quality of the Custody service delivery to assigned clients;
  • You will plan, schedule and manage the daily workflows of all client relationships within your account;
  • You will liaise with clients requirements and deadlines, ensuring delivery in an accurate and timely manner;
  • You will be maintaining relationships with Clients along with working closely with multiple parties internally and externally;
  • You will develop, adhere and maintain targets concerning staffing: production, overtime budgeting and productivity;
  • You will be participating in presentations to existing and prospective clients;
  • You will encourage teams to be proactive in identifying potential issues and the root cause of incidents and opportunities for improvement. Ensure all incidents are addressed and reported timely, and to the mutual satisfaction of Custody and client; debrief team on incident resolution and raise awareness across peer group;
  • You will propose and develop department-wide operational improvements in consultation with the other VPs in Custody;
  • You will communicate the organizational vision and goals to teams in addition to reviewing department goals within Custody;
  • You will maintain a thorough understanding of the systems and to remain apprised of regulations that affect Custody;
  • You will assist auditors and other fund participants;

Experience/Requirements 

About You:

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance / Economics or comparable custody and finance experience;
  • You have 5-7 years’ experience in the Hedge Fund industry, preferably in custody, Investor Relations and/ or Client Service with some exposure to accounting and performance reporting;
  • You have a minimum 3 years’ experience successfully managing a large group;
  • You have a proven track record of being dedicated to servicing a group of high profile Alternative Investment Funds;
  • You display strong risk knowledge;
  • You are an excellent communicator who is able to liaise successfully with both internal and external stakeholders.
