Freight and Supply Chain Specialist

About the Position
Our client is currently seeking a Freight and Supply Chain Specialist on a 12-month fixed term contract based in Dublin. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing all freight related tasks from budgeting to vendor management and improving processes where applicable. 


Key Responsibilities 

· Manage all vendors, monitor costs and transit time to meet all service level agreements
· Identify any shipping issues and implement solutions
· Compile monthly performance reports on delivery to review with management
· Maintain and update freight billing reports
· Update of freight matrix and any fuel cost adjustments
· Prepare the annual freight budget
· Validate all budget file information and ensure all details are accurate and up to date
· Work closely with finance to align on the budget output
· Oversee full tender process, including tended requirement documentation and supplier responses
· Oversee the creation and set up of Master Supply Agreements and engage with legal and obtain supplier sign off
· Monthly OTIF (On Time and In Full) reporting
· Constantly strive to improve and focus on streamlining operations


  • Degree in Business/Supply Chain Management
  • 5 years’ experience ideally in Freight industry
  • Full understanding of ERP systems specifically SAP and MS Office suite
  • Strong Analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with ability to deal with all stakeholders within the organisation
  • Strong negotiation skills with track record to maintain strong business relationships with all stakeholders
  • Excellent understanding of freight essential
  • Strong budgeting and financial planning skills
  • Lean Six Sigma Belt and have an ability to improve and streamline all operations

Remuneration Package

€50,000- €60,000 per annum
