Senior Procurement Specialist
About the Company
One of Ireland’s most reputable public bodies, based in Dublin, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Procurement Specialist to work with their team to develop a robust strategic procurement function and to manage and operate this function to the highest standard. With numerous stakeholders in play, this will be a very active role for someone who is looking to work within a department that operates efficiently and effectively.
About the Position
This position, within the procurement department, will involve making strategic decision in regard to the procurement structures for the client. You will work with a highly experience team and manage a number of projects across public procurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Key strategic decision making related to procurement in line with the finance department
- Internal client management
- Manage the public procurement function
- Manage the vendor selection process
- Manage external supplier to ensure best practice supply
- Manage negotiations with vendors/suppliers
- Operational efficiencies across the supply chain function
- Manage the supply chain risk and improve sustainability across the function
Experience/Requirements
- A min of 8 years procurement experience.
- Experience in public procurement is essential for this role
- Experienced working in a continuous improvement environment
- A strategic thinker and experience in planning
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Remuneration Package
In return, the client offers a competitive package including pension. They also offer a hybrid working arrangement that will extend into 2022.
