Procurement Officer - Non Profit Organisation 

About the Company

Our client works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia specific services for all people living with dementia and their carers.

About the Position

The Procurement Officer will manage a full range of tasks from administrative, procurement, and office support functions. The PO will develop and lead a cost effective and proactive procurement service. The role will provide expert knowledge in all aspects of procurement and should understand Irish and EU public procurement rules and regulations. The Procurement Officer will oversee and ensure regulatory measures are met and provide strategic leadership for cost savings and efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage procurement activities while identifying cost saving strategies and driving efficiencies to reduce risk and maintain quality
  • Deliver and maintain procurement strategies and establish recommendations for the procurement of services and potential suppliers
  • Maintain a contracts register for all suppliers
  • Review all spending and identify any process improvements to maintain strong and efficient procurement activities
  • Liaise with current and potential suppliers to negotiate contracts
  • Management of tender processes
  • Design and implement procurement data collection and analysis
  • Facilitate cross departmental collaboration
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Supervise the management, renewal and negotiation of contracts
  • Manage all tendering processes with the Head of Finance and Management Services
  • Develop a procurement plan and deliver to all relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with budgeting teams
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and public procurement procedures.
  • Negotiate all commercial contracts

Experience/Requirements
 

  • Proven experience managing Procurement
  • Experience in negotiations,  networking and supplier management
  • Experience in collecting and analysing all forms of budgeting data
  • Experience with Public Procurement procedures
  • Proven record of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles

Remuneration Package

€45,000 - €50,000
35 hours a week permanent contract
