This company is a leading supplier of solutions to the automated production environments in many industries including manufacturing, medical devices, pharma, food and distilling. As a global leader they spearhead continuous developments to service their customers.

About the Position

In this newly created role you will report to the Finance Manager and be responsible for supplier relationship management, the negotiation and implementation of SLA's and drive general efficiencies in Procurement.
As the role grows there will be occasional requirements to travel to new Supplier sites to perform audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Contract Management from review, negotiation and agreement of contract terms and conditions with key Suppliers to ongoing management of any issues that deviate from that agreement
  • Detailed review of critical business requirements leading to the identification and evaluation of suppliers to fulfil those requirements
  • Building and nurturing of Strategic Partnerships with suppliers, evaluating and negotiating quotations and making recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors
  • Liaising with and supporting business units in relation to their procurement
  • Undertaking Annual Supplier Reviews to ensure that supplier performance targets, including cost savings, are met and/or exceeded
  • Defining best Practices for the Purchasing function, proactively identify areas for process improvements and implementing associated Policies and procedures
  • Understanding and management of the Customs Clearances required for trading outside the EU

Experience/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Supply Chain, Business or Technical area (e.g. Engineering)
  • 5 years + of relevant experience in procurement
  • Skilled negotiator with knowledge of contract structures and language.
  • Ability to build and develop strong trusting relationships with suppliers and colleagues
  • Excellent communication & influencing skills and a strong team player
  • Strong numerical/analytical skills with the ability to multi-task and work on own initiative

Remuneration Package

A strong salary is on offer as well as Healthcare and Pension. The role is based in Cork and a Hybrid working model will be available.
