Key Responsibilities

  • Be Responsible for the preparation and review of VAT returns and related filings and payments. This includes collating the necessary reports and data for the preparation of VAT returns and liaising with third party service providers to review and approve the draft returns.
  • Ensure that returns are timely filed, and payments are timely made.
  • Co-ordinate with IS and Customer Service to ensure VAT system queries are timely resolved.
  • Take a lead on VAT audits and the preparation of disclosures to the tax authorities as required.
  • Advise on VAT queries from customers and internal colleagues.
  • Be responsible for determining the VAT rate of products.
  • Identify VAT recovery opportunities and manage the local VAT reclaims for certain affiliates.
  • Be responsible for the application of new VAT registrations and any VAT de-registrations as necessary.
  • Advise on VAT implications related to new business initiatives.
  • Monitor VAT legislative changes and ensure that the Company is compliant with new rules.
  • Work with third party tax advisors throughout Europe.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • 5 to 10 percent travel expected.


  • 3-5 years work experience of European VAT legislation and rules.
  • Relevant finance, accounting, or business studies degree and have obtained a professional tax qualification.
  • Chartered Tax Adviser, CTA diploma from the Irish Tax Institute mandatory
  • Possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail and ability to think laterally meaning you can identify potential problems and providing solutions.
  • Fully conversant with current tax issues and conversant with relevant legislation, case law etc.
  • Show initiative, exercise judgement, and take ownership of issues from start to finish
  • Salary and benefits will be market rate, reflecting your level of qualifications and experience.
