About the Company

My client, a global Software Organisation based in South Dublin and specialising in providing support and innovation around the IBM ecosystem to a global client base, now has a requirement for a dynamic experienced Security Operations Manager.

About the Position

This role is designed to help my client in the continued success and development of the company by understanding customer security challenges and delivering a unique security value proposition.

The successful candidate needs to possess strong technical acumen and mature communication skills. Broad security and operational experience are required (Security Operations | Security Managed Services | Security Consulting).

The core responsibility for the Security Operations Manager will be to ensure the scalability of security services; supporting achievement operational and business targets, maintenance and enhancement of security service quality / customer experience, and timely resolution of security tickets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily management and conduct of vulnerability report process
  • Co-ordinate collation of threat intelligence.
  • Co-ordinate collation of product knowledge from Global base of expert consultants
  • Apply security expertise on best practice to security risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, threat environment and implementation.
  • Own security tickets from initial triage through to closure (followed by analysis)
  • Develop appropriate mitigating actions to appropriately address captured customer security risks &/or issues within captured business, operational and financial constraints
  • Capture of lessons learnt
  • Contribute to the development, input and maintenance of a security knowledge base
  • Contribute to security service development
  • Remain up to date on security trends in threats, tooling, methodologies, and regulations
  • Collaborate with internal departments, Customer Support, Account Management, Service Innovation, Industry experts

Experience/Requirements

  • A minimum of 4+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical ability with security and systems experience
  • Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis via technical, business and operational engagement to formulate / coordinate appropriate course of action
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity in a high-growth environment
  • Operations experience; delivery of operational capability &/or service
  • Strong focus on quality and risk management
  • Experienced in collation of and/or utilisation of threat intelligence analysis
  • Good working knowledge and experience in the assessment and/or implementation of ISO27001, NIST framework and Cyber Assessment Framework
  • Working knowledge of Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE) project; Common Vulnerability Exposures (CVE), Common Weakness Scoring System (CWSS) an advantage
  • IBM product experience is advantageous
