POSITION SUMMARY:      

The PMO Analyst will assist with the management of all aspects of our modern, strategic, agile PMO function. Their responsibilities will include the following: support oversight across our IT Portfolio’s agile development roadmaps and strategic projects, assist with the regular global IT governance meetings, communications and training on project delivery methods, management of our Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tooling, and general project risk management support across our global IT function.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assist with overall governance of our IT portfolios and projects in an Agile delivery environment
  • Monitor IT delivery performance and project execution
  • Develop senior stakeholder reporting for our global IT governance meetings by helping to collect and review all aspects of key reporting: portfolio time and expenses, IT budget v’s actual, executive level status updates, IT management reporting, and business value metrics
  • Assist with new project mobilisation including reviews of project documentation for completeness and effectiveness
  • Liaise with portfolio leads, scrum masters, project managers, and technical leads across the organisation to review progress, track risks and issues and work to ensure corrective or mitigating actions are taken effectively
  • Ownership and management of our PPM tooling, including regular assessment of our tools to seek advancement, improvements, and efficiencies
  • Enhancement and promotion of our Project Management methodologies
  • Develop and enhance robust project management documentation templates
  • Maintain a portfolio level risks & issues log to track and manage as required
  • Liaise with all stakeholders across the organisation to ensure dependencies are understood and managed effectively
  • At times you may be asked to step in and fulfil a Project Manager role if needed

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE NECESSARY:

  • Strong project management experience with accreditations such as PMP/PMI
  • Good understanding of agile delivery methodologies and governance within an agile operating model, certifications such as Scrum Master or Scaled Agile would be beneficial
  • Over 3+ years practical experience in a PMO role involved in the governance and oversight of business & IT projects, using both Agile and traditional methodologies
  • General problem-solving mentality and strong analytical skills
  • Relationship management and communication skills to manage stakeholders and facilitate planning across portfolios
  • Excellent attention to detail and very strong documentation skills
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen and experience in managing in a PMO effectively
  • Insurance / reinsurance experience would be advantageous
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment
  • Executive Level reporting and presentation skills
  • Experience within the IT project management area of a financial services environment

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Microsoft Suite – Teams, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI
  • PPM Tools such as Jira Software/Atlassian Tools, Product Plan, Clockify, etc.
  • Advanced Excel
  • SQL knowledge and skills
