National Sales Representative

About the Company

Ireland's leading supplier of garden hardware and tools to the DIY and FMCG markets requires a National Sales Representative to drive it's business in the North and North West, ideally from a base in the Midlands. 

About the Position

In this full time, permanent position you will be tasked with maintaining and building their business, both with existing clients and with new accounts across Connacht and Ulster.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and further develop the existing portfolio of customers within the territory.
  • Identify and target new channels and business opportunities.
  • Provide regular feedback on sales performance, customers, product positioning, competitive position and market development
  • Plan and implement a strategy for sales growth.
    Direct negotiations with potential retailers relating to the company’s product ranges.
  • Achieve annual sales budgets and gross profits set out by the sales director.
  • Development and expansion of sales in all the key accounts and sectors which have been allocated to the position.
  • Be an active member of the sales & marketing team in all its joint efforts to improve the sales volume and profitability of the business
  • Liaison with the key buyers in market
  • Successful launch of new product ranges and introductions
  • Ensuring that the Company’s products are merchandised in the best possible manner throughout the region
  • Ensuring that all new store set-ups and store revamps are coordinated to achieve the best outcome for the customer


  • Knowledge of the relevant Irish Market, along with strong business acumen
  • 5 years experience of sales & marketing techniques
  • A proven track record in building accounts, meeting targets and KPIs and identifying opportunities to drive the business
  • A self-starter with strong organisational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be IT literate with total understanding of both PowerPoint and Excel software
  • You will have excellent communication skills and an aptitude for building lasting relationships with retailers and customers of all types.
  • Ability to deal with and influence people
  • A sound knowledge of the company’s products and those of the competitors is required.
Considering the Geographic’s of the existing / target customer base, the role will require the need for a considerable amount of travel within Ireland on a weekly basis but such travel would need to be conducted in a planned and constructive manner ensuring best practice in terms of time management and expenditures. Depending on the distance from home and work load demands, occasional overnight stays may be necessary.
