Pipelines Specialist - Gas

Our client directly employs over 1,600 people delivering water and gas services to 1.6 million customers daily and currently has an exciting opportunity to join their team.

About the Position

Pipelines GIS Specialist will work on all aspects of pipeline liner assets for both Tx and Dx. The successful candidate will be required to develop procedures and guidelines for the attributes associated with the recording of all linear assets for Tx and Dx. The successful candidate will work within a team of skilled Project GIS Specialists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work within a team of CAD/GIS / Mapping technicians
  • Directly engage with Project Delivery Engineers.
  • Support the production and recording of linear assets
  • Attend project meetings while providing advice and support
  • Maintain the integrity of data quality in GIS.
  • Ensure all hard and digital data to external bodies in accordance with all relevant procedures
  • Assisting Design Engineers in the planning, design and programming of significant Network Development Projects
  • Supporting Pipeline Lead as required to meet project design requirements
  • Organising and ensuring correct controls are applied to the production
  • Support the efficient production of relevant drawings
  • Support the coordinating the implementation of new systems and controls e.g. ISO9000.
  • Assist in developing initiatives to enhance the functionality and operation of Digital Services
  • Supporting Land and Consent Management where wayleaves are required

Experience/Requirements

  • Level 6 qualification degree or other relevant qualification with 5 years relevant experience, preferably in the natural gas or similar industry
  • Technical knowledge of Geographical Information Systems
  • Collate and review information as required
  • Awareness of H&S standards, Operational Procedures Manual and Engineering Design processes
  • Knowledge of Gas Standards, Codes of Practice and Statutory Requirements desirable
  • Strong team player and naturak ability to bring teams together
  • Collaborate to identify opportunities to share knowledge and improve results
  • Excellent communication skills with all internal stakeholders
  • Comfortable identifying and highlighting opportunities for improvements and efficiency
  • Committed to developing new skills personally and with your team

Remuneration Package

€45000 - €56000 per annum
