Procurement Technologist - Renewables

Our client is on track to be one of the world’s first pure-play renewable energy majors. They have assembled a world-class team with over 215 years of combined experience in the renewable energy sector and have teams in APAC, Africa, Europe and LATAM.

About the Position

The successful candidate will ensure that the Procurement team remain ahead of the curve on renewable energy technological developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track renewable energy technology trends and develop roadmap of next generation technologies
  • Develop a Procurement Strategy to create value for Mainstreams’ renewable energy asset pipeline.
  • Critically evaluate and compare product offerings
  • Provide technical guidance in reviewing tender packages and evaluating submissions
  • Identify, prequalify and develop relationships with key suppliers
  • Optimise projects by ensuring best-in-class technology has been assessed
  • Coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure Employer’s Requirements are updated as required to incorporate new technologies and processes
  • Liaise with all external parties in relation to procurement activities
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing groups to leverage expertise globally
  • Interact with all relevant in-house teams – Engineering, Finance etc
  • Implement and suggest improvements to the companys Global Development Standard to ensure our projects are optimised as efficiently as possible
  • Manage revision and quality of procurement documents
  • Attend industry events to keep abreast of developments in renewable energy technologies

Experience/Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred. A further technical qualification would be an advantage
  • Extensive experience and a deep knowledge of renewable energy power generation and/or electrical engineering
  • Experience specific to technological development or technical sales would be an advantage
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with an ability to communicate technical concepts to all stakeholders at all levels
  • Passionate for learning about technology developments within the renewable energy sector
  • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Proactively manage all internal and external resources
  • Ability to use Microsoft software such as, MS Project, and SharePoint.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; fluency in other languages considered an advantage.

Remuneration Package

€70,000 - €80,000
