About the Company

An extremely exciting and rare opportunity in a life insurance start up. 

 

The organisation is a digitally focused Greenfield operation and will provide life products in the protection, savings, investments and retirement and will be regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.

 

About the Position

As this is a newly formed business, the role will involve all aspects of a start-up.  New platforms & technology, new Organisational design, new processes and procedures, will fall under this position and you will be expected to leverage the latest digital technologies and future ways of working.

 

The role will hold responsibility for monitoring and ensuring delivery of overall business performance, financial strategy, governance and reporting.  

 

The position will be a PCF 11 position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and sign-off of periodic financial statements for Financial & Regulatory Reporting purposes.
  • Presentation of results to senior leadership team and Board/Audit Committee
  • Review, design and implement financial reporting and controls
  • Ensure appropriate financial governance is in place to meet existing and emerging risks and regulatory changes
  • Partner with the business to provide financial input to strategy
  • Oversee the Financial Planning process including annual budget preparation
  • Initiate and lead the development of new systems and procedures
  • Lead a team of Finance professionals to achieve desired business outcomes
  • Lead relationships with external auditors, ensuring engagement is productive and efficient and that all issues are appropriately communicated to senior management with an impact assessment and resolution plan

Experience/Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA, ACMA (or similar) qualified with 8 years’ or more PQE
  • Significant experience in the Life Insurance industry
  • Knowledge of Solvency II reporting and IFRS (including IFRS 17) would be advantageous
  • Extensive level of knowledge and experience of Accounting & Regulatory requirements
  • Highly proficient in key Financial Reporting Systems
  • Ability to leverage latest technology and operate in a digitally focussed business

Remuneration Package

€120,000 - €130,000 + competitive bonus & benefits
