About the Company

Our Client is Ireland’s national regulated water utility. They are a commercial semi-state company and directly employ over 1,600 people who deliver water services to 1.7 million customers daily.

About the Position

The successful candidate will report directly to the National Operations Centre Analyst. The role has a national responsibility for the effective and efficient 24/7/365 remote monitoring, management and response to alarms. The Centre operates on a 24/7/365 basis therefore working hours for this role will be on a shift rotation pattern

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the effective, efficient, 24/7/365 monitoring and response to alarms using monitoring, control and reporting systems.
  • Prioritise management, dispatch and escalation of alarms via management systems following all relevant procedures
  • Provide telephone contact for management Centre stakeholders ensuring operational situations are dealt with as efficiently as possible
  • Undertake reviews and configurations of alarm / telemetry system in support of business objectives
  • Liaise with the Centre Analyst for support and guidance on emerging operational incidents which may require additional support
  • Monitor, interpret and build data, and provision of management reports that aid business decision-making and support continuous improvement
  • Ensure all escalation processes and procedures are in place
  • Adhere to all HSQE plans, policies and procedures
  • Carry out any other duties deemed necessary

Experience/Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience working within a fast paced organisation preferably in the water/utility/regulated industry sector
  • Level 6 qualification in a related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Comfortable working with large amounts of information/data from multiple sources
  • Data analysis, interpretation and problem-solving skills and ability to influence stakeholders using relevant data sets
  • Strong computing/IT skills are required to design and develop reports
  • Keen to understand the practices and procedures applying to the National Operations Management Centre team and the monitoring of alarms
  • Knowledge of utility operations, with an operational background desirable, including experience in Water/Wastewater service delivery
  • Experience using Microsoft Office software and SharePoint is essential
  • Firm appreciation of the importance of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work
  • Effective communications skills are essential

Remuneration Package

€42,000 - €50,000 per annum
24 days annual leave + 2.5 days additional days during the year (Good Friday, Christmas office closure)
Eligible for annual performance-related award
