With over 350 staff locally and 1000 staff across the group, this is a great time to join as their VP of HR for Ireland and UK and to drive their HR Strategy across L&D, Comps & Ben, D&I and HR technology change.

About the Position

This role will primarily support the Dublin animation studio with approx. 350 staff and a HR team of 11 colleagues, including three members based in Toronto (Director of Global Recruitment, Director of Global Culture & People Development and Director of Global Total Rewards). You will have overall leadership of people-based decisions across the employee lifecycle, impacting the business strategy; providing coordinated value add advice based on timely HR management information, professional knowledge, and employment risk exposure.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Reporting directly into their SVP of Finance and Business Affairs, you will be a key member of the senior management team, Collaborating and advising on multidisciplinary people-based business decisions and also working closely alongside their CEO, Creative Director and the wider SMT and management, providing individual management support on professional and employee personnel issues.
  • Building, leading, and developing a comprehensive and inclusive, forward looking HR team
  • Leading the development and maintenance of a clear, visible, and comprehensive employee benefit system (across remuneration grading, wellbeing benefits - health insurance / life Insurance, income protection and pension) that attracts, rewards and retains a high calibre of staff.

 

  • Running the onboarding, performance management system and review processes to build a culture of inclusive employee feedback, driving continuous improvement and development.
  • Devising and running career development and organisational planning to ensure long terms career and learning opportunities. 
  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end development and implementation of HR processes and policies, ensuring compliance relevant to legislation.
  • Providing leadership in employee wellness, positive employee experience and employee communication.
  • Be the key project lead for their global implementation HR information system (MILO) to enable accurate and up-to-date, standardised management information on all people data and action-based reporting. Ensure local adaptation across their multi-sites and full value and benefits of the new system is leveraged.
  • Leading out the Learning & Development strategy globally and continuously adapting and improving against changing business requirements

Ideal Experience, Skills and Cultural Fit 

  • Highly experienced HR leader with 10+ years’ operating at a senior management / leadership level of a multi-functional HR team.
  • Thrives in working in a global, multi-cultural and agile environment and has proven ability to lead a team through new HR operating models and matrix reporting structures
  • Ideally coming from a similar sector such as the creative / animation / tech industry, but equally very open to other sectors
  • Enjoys leading multi - jurisdictional and multi-cultural teams through positive change, empowering teams in a culture of continuous learning and building out a best-in-class HR team and function that is at the heart of the business
  • Adept in overseeing talent attraction strategies and partnership agency relations that have niche expertise in this sector to ensure strong talent pipeline locally and globally. Outstanding communication skills, able to facilitate and negotiate difficult conversations
  • Tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues.
  • Excellent judgement and strong problem-solving skills, with outstanding agility navigating multiple priorities and/or difficult situations.
  • Ability to influence and drive results at all levels of an organisation, building relationships with both staff and senior leadership
  • Applied knowledge of European employment law
  • Strong budgeting and financial acumen
  • Strong understanding of business reporting & presenting information.
  • Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (or equivalent) qualification (desirable).
  • HRIS literacy
