Our client is a global leader in frozen bakery manufacturing, one of the largest specialty bakery companies in the world

About the Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will have full ownership of accounts preparation, performing analysis and ensuring accuracy of information along with managing various stakeholders. In this varied role you will play a "hands on" part in managing both the day to day activities and the month end accounting and reporting for the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of month end accounts preparation & balance sheet reporting for one Irish entity including submission of month end results to group on BPC.
  • Review costs and assist with budgeting & forecasting with local cost centre owners
  • Maintenance of Rebate (LTA agreements) calculations and reporting
  • Preparation of month end management reporting powerpoint deck
  • Maintenance of fixed asset register and capex approval process
  • Co-ordinate with other departments on behalf of local finance (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Sales, Production)
  • Review & update Lease Accelerator system ensuring completeness and accuracy of lease reporting.
  • Review and submission on ROS and HMRC of tax returns prepared by part qualified accountant – VAT, intrastat, vies, 46G
  • Yearend reporting including tax pack preparation, disclosure information pack and liaising with auditors in group and statutory audit
  • Assist in improving BI and SAP reporting
  • Ongoing Internal control implementation, review and improvement
  • IFRS statutory accounts preparation

Experience/Requirements

  • Recently qualified ACA/ACCA with strong academic record
  • 3 years' + industry experience
  • Manufacturing or FMCG experience an advantage
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative and multitask
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • SAP ERP experience an advantage
