About the Company

Our client, HQ'ed in Bermuda, are hiring a credit insurance analyst to join their Dublin team. They are a global, diversified insurer who put on emphasis on work life balance whilst collectively achieving goals. With a large footprint in the US, they also have offices throughout Eurpoe, in Hong Kong and their site in central Dublin. 

About the Position

The Credit Insurance Analyst will assist in analysing new transactions. They will also perform portfolio surveillance and financial reporting in respect of the in-force portfolio that will be used within the team as well as by external teams. The role will sit in Dublin and reports into the VP of Credit Risk Transfer and Services who sits in Bermuda. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluates the performance of loan collateral using internal models or other estimation techniques. Is able to derive results from first principles and well-supported assumptions in cases where data or model availability is limited. 
  • Fully understands underlying portfolio metrics and how risk variables affect results.
  • Fully understands SRT/CRT transaction structural features and maintains coding to model them.
  • Understands different capital regimes – rating agency, regulatory and economic. Develops methodologies and models for estimating capital relief.
  • Assists in creating Transaction Analytics Reports for senior management and other internal groups that may then be shared with third party clients.
  • Provides analyses to support financial reporting / planning and fully understands the various drivers of earnings each quarter.
  • Performs quarterly portfolio surveillance and delivers related reporting to various stakeholders.
  • Keeps abreast of the latest changes in the European banking industry and U.S. mortgage industry
  • Position will require working closely with the Bermuda office. 


  • Experience and understanding of European or US mortgage markets is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in credit risk analysis is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematical, business or economics discipline.
  • CFA or relevant post-graduate qualification
  • 5+ years of experience in the Insurance industry or Mortgage/Banking industry
  • Ability to manipulate data with SAS, Python, or other equivalent tools, and experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Remuneration Package

This role is offered on a permanent basis and salary is in the €75 - €85k bracket along with a benefits package. The role is also eligible for up to 15% bonus.
