Supply Chain Co-Ordinator - Pharmaceuticals (CMO)

My client are a Biopharma group with operations in Ireland, EU, the US and Asia. They have a site in Dublin that manufactures, packages and supplies essential products across the globe. They have a mixture of both established and late stage development products within their portfolio and are passionate about patient care. 

About the Position

Reporting to the Supply Chain director, the role of the External Manufacturing Co-Ordinator is to effectively co-ordinate planning and on time delivery of all externally manufactured products and ensure delivery exceeds 97% at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-Ordinating all relationships with Contract Manufacturing Organisation (CMO) Partners
  • Collaborating with all levels of the Supply Chain and Internal Logistics to ensure all external schedules are met and all product supplied directly to our partners are supplied on time
  • Ensure that any potential quality issues are flagged to Quality Department External Manufacturing Team and assessed in a timely manner and any necessary actions are taken
  • Issue annual forecasts to the external manufacturers and updating as required along with inputting into the relevant 5-year plans
  • Raising all PO’s associated with the CMO orders
  • Ensuring all requirements of serialisation are met where necessary at CMOs
  • Ensuring annual schedules for meetings with CMO’s (minimum monthly) are in place and issued for each year and reports of meetings are issued
  • Updating of monthly KPI’s for each CMO and issuing on time
  • Assisting the Supply Chain Director to organise the annual or biannual business development meetings
  • In depth knowledge of all CMO agreements and flagging key timelines throughout life cycle
  • Managing the supply of API to all CMOs
  • Ensuring the agreed buffer stocks for APIs and drug product are maintained at the CMO’s and are reviewed and updated with the Supply Chain Director
  • Ensure visibility with the Planning Manager on all supply at the CMO’s and flagging in a timely manner any potential supply issues
  • Compiling monthly sales reports & CMO reports & quarterly Supply Chain reports.
  • Resolving all issues at CMO sites in line with company requirements
  • Assisting with the identification and qualification of new CMO’s
  • Working with Corporate Supply Chain in Switzerland to ensure their objectives are met
  • Carrying out risk assessments on new CMO’s as per company procedures


  • Eight years Supply Chain relevant experience preferably in a Bio/Pharmaceutical or Medical Device company would be an advantage
  • Applicants may also be considered from those with good steriles manufacturing experiencing looking to establish a career in Supply Chain
  • Experience of ERP systems essential
  • An ability to work on their own whilst influencing internal teams to ensure desired outcomes in a challenging fast moving work environment
  • A minimum of a third level degree preferably in a Life Science or Supply Chain Discipline
  • Excellent communication and project management skills are essential
  • Ability to collaborate effectively internally & externally as a member of a team
  • Excellent understanding of ERP systems, Microsoft Office & Tableau
  • Previous experience dealing with and managing multinational Contract / Third Party Manufacturers is essential.

Remuneration Package

€50,000 - €65,000 depending on experience + Full Benefits package
