The ideal candidate will be commercially astute, with a passion for strong cross functional collaboration, forward thinking, with a pro compliance / pro business leadership style.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead out, and embed a best in class Compliance Framework to ensure a strong compliance culture across the business.
- Lead, inspire and mentor a team a compliance professionals
- Continue to develop and evolve risk based compliance initiatives to develop and enhance the compliance and regulatory framework
- Provide strong leadership and strategic direction for the SLT across compliance, data privacy and financial crime risk.
- Oversee the compliance activities and board governance of the legal entity.
- Ensure implementation, maintenance and delivery of compliance and regulatory activities
- Providing correct and timely assessment of compliance issues and giving customer focused and solution orientated advice;
- Promote a strong compliance risk based culture with a pro-business /compliance balance
- Liaising with risk management to enforce a strong second line of defence;
- Oversee the effective delivery of the compliance monitoring framework
- Prepare the compliance reports for quarterly Committee/Board meetings
- Liaise closely with the Group on group and local initiatives
- Annually conducting and monitoring the annul compliance plan and compliance risk assessment;
- Overseeing strategic projects to include new regulatory requirements ensuring appropriate and timely identification, assessment and implementation;
- Working closely with cross divisional teams and colleague to provide necessary training on evolving and new compliance related topics.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Compliance and / or legal qualification with demonstrable track record in leading and managing an strong and highly experienced compliance team.
- (PCF12) in insurance and/or reinsurance or other financial services sector with a keen interest to move into insurance.
- Excellent capabilities to develop a team, enable and encourage a culture of learning, researching and applying regulatory changes and policies in proactive, pro commercial approach.
- Adept communicator across different stakeholders, natural ability to build rapport and key relationships, ability to prioritise and influence directly and through people.
- Natural leader who remains composed under pressure.
- Lateral thinker, open to change and embraces and enjoy the evolving nature of conduct and regulatory risk.
