About the Company

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Calibration and Maintenance Specialist to join one of the most respected and desirable Pharma manufacturing sites in the South East. In this role you will work as a key part of a high performing Maintenance department, delivering best in class Instrumentation and Calibration services to drive the efficiency and reliability of the manufacturing processes on site.

About the Position

To succeed in this role you will need to bring deep knowledge of Instrumentation and Calibration along with some previous experience in a Maintenance role, one of the key responsibilities being to manage the "Out of Tolerance" system. This role also serves as a delegate for the Maintenance Lead which will give exposure to leadership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Lead on execution of the site maintenance & calibration program to deliver compliant, reliable and efficient operation of all plant and equipment.
  • Lead compliance adherence for the maintenance department and the ownership / update of related SOPs.
  • Ensure OOTs (out of tolerance) & PSV failures are effectively root caused and closed out and support the development of the equipment annual review.
  • Working with the Reliability Engineer, develop a Root Cause Failure Analysis Program to reduce equipment & instrumentation breakdowns and support maintenance personnel to conduct real time Root Cause Analysis.
  • Establish and use reliability & work planning metrics/KPI's to monitor improvement and resource optimization.
  • Providing technical support on equipment and instrumentation issues. Lead/support the investigation of equipment/instrumentation related deviations/incident reports where maintenance & calibration is identified as a probable root cause.
  • Liaise with equipment vendors & cross site resources to establish appropriate and best practice maintenance & calibration methodologies and schedules for the site.
  • Review program to ensure maintenance execution is optimised and in compliance with GMP, Safety and Environmental requirements.


  • A 3rd level qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or related discipline or demonstrated equivalent maintenance experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a maintenance environment, preferably in a Manufacturing GMP environment.
  • Good understanding of World Class Maintenance & Calibration practices and expectations.
  • Knowledge of maintenance systems and work practices for both electrical/instrumentation and mechanical crafts.
  • Knowledge and experience of CMMS systems (SAP & Procal) is essential.
