Based in Cork, the Global Software Product Research and Development Centre is responsible for the creation of innovative, high quality software tools for Automation Systems and Services. Their highly skilled workforce specialise in: Research and Advanced Development Product Development Mobile Development Cloud Computing. The profile within the Software team includes: Software Architects, Software Developers, Software Testers, Requirements Engineers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches.

The client offers complete automation solutions based around its core skill of safety – in everything from the sensor technology to the control systems and actuators. The product range includes corresponding software tools, diagnostic and visualisation systems as well as engineering services.

About the Position

The client is building their team and have an excellent opportunity for an experienced UX Designer.


Key Responsibilities

· Create and maintain the software user interface design and branding guideline for the software product portfolio.

· Work closely with the development teams implementing the designs to ensure consistency in visual elements and behaviour is applied.

· Create, improve and use wireframes, prototypes, style guides, user flows, and effectively communicate your ideas using any of these methods.

· Present and defend your design decisions. All your design decisions should be based on the overall design roadmap as well as your own design thinking.

· Working closely with Product Owners, Product management and Customer Support departments to understand the needs of customers and technical limitations in order to design the best experience possible.

· Be a great team player, experienced in working with agile teams. Ability to collaborate closely with developers.

· Continually keep yourself updated with the latest changes in your industry’s standards.

The Person

Hands-on experience creating wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, user flows, etc..

Experience using tools such as Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, Adobe XD.

Understanding of basic front-end languages: HTML5, CSS3 Javascript.

Creative ideas with problem solving mindset.

Experience working in an agile/scrum development process.

Be open to receiving objective criticism and improving upon it.

Ability to conceptualize short-term needs as well as big-picture vision.

Ability to identify, empathize, and articulate user needs.

Sketching and wireframing in collaborative whiteboarding sessions.

Ability to present concepts and justify design assumptions.

Familiar with analytical and qualitative research methods.

Thorough understanding of user-centered methods.

Strong communication skills.


Essential Criteria

Candidates will have an online portfolio of UI/UX/Graphic designs to demonstrate their skills and approach

3+yrs professional experience as UX Engineer.

Remuneration Package

€50K- €57K depending on experience.
