System Technician (Electronics)

About the Position

Our client saves lives at sea and are looking for a Systems Technician (Electronics) to join their Ireland Regional team. Mainly supporting stations from Clogherhead around to Baltimore, including Lough Derg, but may have to work at other locations within Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effect repair and planned maintenance to all boats and equipment at a Support Centre, Lifeboat Station, haul out facility or other location as required. 
  • Ensure risk assessments and job cards are created and used for each task undertaken to include SHE observations, non compliance and near misses. Contribute to establishing and maintaining a safe working culture
  • Carry out modifications to boats and equipment. Sign off relevant paperwork submitting any recommendations as required.


  • Time served Electroinc/ electrical apprenticeship with a sound background and experience in marine or vehicle and plant electronics or electrical engineering
  • NVQ level 3 (NFQ Ireland equivalent) minimum or equivalent in mechanical
  • Wide knowledge and experience of repair and maintenance of marine mechanical and electrical/electronic systems and/or vehicle or plant including auto/marine electronic equipment.
  • The willingness/ability to spend nights away from home as required
  • Be part of an on-call roster
