Project Manager (Insurance)


About the Company
 

My client is a leading life assurance company, based in Dublin, and operating in the European market. They have an immediate requirement for a Project Manager to coordinate and deliver small operational and IT projects.  The successful candidate will ideally have insurance or life assurance experience. A background in IT is not essential.


About the Position


The main responsibilities are to deliver projects on time and within scope, and also to ensure projects and business deliverables are correctly implemented and monitored through their different phases.


Key Responsibilities

 

  • Collection and definition of the business requirements
  • Evaluation of IT solution and design and related associated effort
  • Cooperation with the external IT partners to translate business requirements into a correct implementation
  • Performing and coordinating UAT testing as well as any joint testing with business partners when required
  • Monitoring and reporting post release issues
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • In addition to the above, the Project Manager can have responsibilities assigned for ad hoc activities or special project like IT migrations, projects around the CRM system, special tasks to be performed with outsourcers or distributors of the Company.


Experience

 

  • Degree or Professional Qualification in Business, IT or equivalent.
  • Certification on Project management would be a plus
  • 2-3 years’ experience in Insurance and Financial service industry, preferably in Operational or Organizational / IT roles
  • Familiarity with Unit Linked products and cross border processes within an organization based in Ireland and selling in EU
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Familiarity with Information Security topics would be a plus
  • Understanding of the commercial and marketing aspects of the project when impacting external distributors
  • Cooperating with other departments or Company’s project team, providing support, sharing knowledge and suggesting solutions
  • Taking full responsibility when a job or project is assigned, and related full understanding of specifications, targets and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to deal well and coordinate external parties and IT service providers
  • Fluent or native English speaker. Good Italian would be a plus.

 

Remuneration Package

€55K- €70K negotiable depending on experience.
