Operational Risk Officer

About the Company

Global organisation operating in 50+ countries with a headcount of 500+ in Ireland. 

About the Position

The main objectives of this role is to contribute to the implementation of the First Line of Defence Operational Risk Framework through risk mapping/identification and creation of Key Risk Indicators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creation of Key Risk Indicators across the Business Lines in line with their risk ratings in order to maintain effective business monitoring within our risk appetite.
  • Perform/drive the risk identification and assessment in liaison with independent control Functions when needed
  • Coordination and consultation with regards to existing controls and controls to be added or removed
  • Maintain the risk taxonomy, cartography and risk assessment at the appropriate level
  • Input of appropriate information into Risk 360 system
  • Management of historical incidents (including near-misses) 
  • Management of potential incidents - Conduct and/or coordinate the assessment, quantification and update of potential incidents in liaison with the concerned independent control functions
  • Acting as a risk advisor and carrying our risk assessments on major projects and change initiatives.
  • Reporting as required

Experience/Requirements

•Strong inter-personal, negotiation and communication skills. You will be expected to consult and liaise on operational risk matters with various levels of staff 
•Relevant 3rd level qualification or equivalent necessary, post graduate/professional PRIMIA qualification or equivalent preferred
•Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Operational Risk Management
•High level of operational experience or knowledge in Financial Services industry required
•Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills to use in operational evaluation and interpretation of risk information
•Able to follow complex risk & regulatory methodologies, processes and procedures in diverse routine and non-routine tasks
•Able to handle highly confidential information and material in a professional manner
•Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, helping to create positive change in the risk culture within the Bank
 

Remuneration Package

Permanent role, salary €60/€65k plus benefits, Dublin based - hybrid working model in situ.
