Interim Financial Controller

Key Responsibilities

Accounting / Reporting

  • Prepare monthly accounts to meet tight corporate deadlines.
  • Prepare monthly reports as per corporate timetable
  • Annual audit /Group internal audit
  • Prepare draft statutory accounts 
  • Monthly balance sheet review
  • Prepare tax schedules for outsourced tax computation
  • Capital Expenditure Control / Fixed Asset Management 
  • Monthly presentation to Group CEO and Group FD
  • Weekly and Monthly cash flow forecasting
  • Banking related issues
  • Monthly forecast income statement, balance sheet, sales, and margin
  • Budget income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, sales/margin analysis and ratios
  • Build-up of standard costs

Payroll / HR

  • Prepare monthly salary template for outsourced payroll
  • Review salary and wages
  • Maintain all finance related HR records such as the holiday provision

Costing / Inventory

  • Build up standard costs for new items
  • Review freight and duty allocation, update actual costs monthly
  • Review inventory, analyse slow moving items etc


  • Responsible for all aspects of company scheme
  • Leasing / Insurance 
  • Company filing/returns with Revenue Commissioners and with CRO

Staff Management

  • Responsible for managing 5 people in the following positions:
  • AR & AP, Stock Controller, Purchasing Officer, Warehouse Manager


  • ·Qualified Accountant with 4/5 years’ experience as a Financial Controller
  • ·Staff management experience is required 
  • ·Month-end close & reporting to tight deadlines
  • ·Knowledge of Sage accounting preferred, or any computerised accounting package
  • ·Strong computer skills including the Microsoft Suite; primarily Excel and Word.
  • ·Attention to detail is essential for this role
  • ·Ability to assess multiple tasks and develop a plan to complete them in a logical and efficient manner
  • ·Contributing positively to team operations and working relationships
  • Ability to identify the information needed to clarify a situation
