Accounts Assistant Job - Part-time Dublin 6
The client is a small but successful SME whose business is in electrical engineering based in Dublin 6. Due to continued growth, they are looking to hire a part-time Bookkeeper to assist the Accounts Manager with general office and account management duties. The business is in operation for over 20 years and has expanded significantly throughout the last 5 years. The ideal candidate would have a background in a small but busy accounts office environment, ideally from some type of industry similar to construction and only seeking standard part-time hours. The client is flexible on the days, the hours will vary between 15-20 hours weekly depending on business needs, its office-based and the job offers a competitive rate per hour DOE.
About the Position
This Accounts Assistant Job will vary in responsibility, everything from - Invoicing, Collections, Vat returns, Processing Transactions, bank reconciliation and assisting with the preparation of monthly Management Accounts. The role also includes some administrative duties as well, including answering phones and assisting the business with other Adhoc duties depending on the needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- AP Reconciliation, Payment Runs and Processing Transactions
- Assisting with reconciling bank accounts
- Assist in preparation of monthly Management Accounts
- Providing documents and liaising with external Auditors
- Assisting with the preparation of VAT, RTD, VIES Returns and submissions
- Processing Cash Receipts and Allocations
- Contribute to Budget Process
- Petty cash management
General Accounts work:
- Reviewing Expenses
- Answering phones
- Arrange bookings/ payments for employees (training, conferences, meetings, etc.
- Coordinate office maintenance and facility requirements
- Order and maintain office supplies
Experience/Requirements
- 2 to 3 years’ experience working in an Accounts department
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Ability to work to timelines, prioritise workload and multitask while maintaining a high standard of work
- Attention to detail, methodical approach and ability to follow up essential
- Ability to solve problems using own initiative
Remuneration Package
15-20 hours weekly, a rate of €18-22 per hour DOE
