Financial Accountant Job 

About the Company

My client is a software organisation, who are pioneers that offers cutting-edge analytical devices that provide analysis on product performance. They provide this advanced software to their many big named clients around the world, which include the manufacturing and automotive industries.

This young company has seen YoY growth and now employs over 150 staff working across multiple offices. Their main HQ is based in Dublin 18. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic company that is a niche business, very successful, and in growth. 

About the Position

This is a newly created position within their finance department, it's an ideal job opportunity for a dynamic driven professional from a top 4 practice who has experience using Netsuite accounting systems and is looking to have a lead role in running the accounting and financial activities within in a busy and growing organisation. This position reports to the Financial Controller and works closely with the CFO  and alongside 4 other accountants here.

Key Responsibilities

  • This role will be responsible for but not limited to:
  • Responsible for month-end general ledger close in accordance with FRS102 and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Responsibility includes month end journal entries, preparation and review of CapEx reports, variance explanations, working with project managers, special projects, and performing ad hoc research.
  • Research accounting issues, summarize pertinent material, identify impact and initiate recommendations/actions based on account review findings
  • Interpret and reconcile accounting data, perform analysis, produce management reports and recommend action to be taken
  • Review of capital expenditure request, scope, and approvals and ensuring consistent accounting controls and processes are implemented
  • Performance tax compliance activities
  • Prepare entity level balance sheet reconciliations and appropriately challenges before approval.
  • Formulate and implement ongoing improvements to standard accounting systems, procedures and reports to assure the integrity of financial information reported.
  • Develop methods for improving staff efficiency and work with the financial controller in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Netsuite and administrative procedures to insure proper internal controls and operating efficiencies.
  • Drive improvements and efficiencies in accounting systems, procedures and controls
  • Be a backup for other accounting functions as needed
  • Ad-hoc accounting projects as assigned

Experience/Requirements

  • A recognised accounting qualification
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience working at one of the “Big Four” accounting firms
  • Experience in compiling and generating financial reports from raw data
  • Strong experience using NetSuite and NetSuite Reporting
  • Experience of designing, implementing and managing finance processes and policies
  • Experience of delivering month end processes and reporting using Netsuite
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent Excel experience
