Our client a leader in the world of investment services and investment management have an exciting job opportunity for a Junior Fund Account or Graduate to join their hedge fund team in Wexford. Their businesses support the full range of stakeholders of the financial system including-managing the custody of approximately $37 trillion financial assets of the world’s leading institutional investors, hedge funds, sovereign wealth funds, and corporate.

About the Position

My Client is looking to add a junior fund accountant to their team within their newly created Wexford office. The Junior Fund Accountant will complete accounting & tax related functions for a group of clients. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cash and asset reconciliations related to assigned funds 

  • Preparation of 1st draft Management accounts, typically trial balance, profit & loss account and balance sheet for review by senior team members.

  • Requires data gathering from source systems and detailed analysis of the transactions to ensure accurate bookings are made in the accounting system.

  •  Liaises with other internal parties as necessary for validation of transactions where issues are noted.

  • Assistance in audit process, in conjunction with the Supervisor Fund Accountant

  • Proactively dealing with audit queries as assigned by senior team members.

  • Ensure accuracy of reports and ensure deadlines are met.

Experience/Requirements

  • Degree in business/ financial/ accounting discipline (required)

  • 0-3 years experience with a good mix of accounting and financial services background preferable, strong graduates will be considered
