About the Position

Our client is looking for an Corporate Travel Manager. This is a brand new role where you will redesign the company's travel policy and procedures. You will also set and manager the travel and entertainment budget. This is a permanent role that will be mainly working from home and requires only two days a week in North Dublin office

Key Responsibilities

  • Help redesign the Group’s travel policy according to the Company’s needs and lead implementation across the business, always keeping the well-being of business travellers at the forefront
  • Ensure the TMS (travel management system) utilised by the business is fit for purpose or identify a suitable alterative, leading the implementation of such across the business and driving continuous improvement
  • With support from the Head of Department, manage the Group’s annual travel and entertainment budget of c€1mn (and growing!), and set the travel budget for the coming year
  • Book complex travel arrangements (lounge access, security fast track, flights, trains, cars, chauffeurs, hotels and more) for the Senior Management Team (SMT), ensuring all bookings are added to the Executive’s Outlook calendars, working in collaboration with the Team PA
  • Ensure the end-to-end journey of the Executive is seamless and stress-free, this will require issuing boarding passes in advance, calling ahead to hotels to ensure suitable rooms are allocated, liaising with drivers (and, on occasion, pilots) to keep them updated of the Executive’s movements (with support from the Team PA)
  • Negotiate contracts with hotels, airlines and executive car companies to ensure the Group and its employees receive the possible rates
  • Continually monitor market conditions to ensure the best rates and/or discounts, amenities and contract terms are maintained throughout the contract
  • Maintain travel trackers for the Executives; ensure visa applications are renewed in time and days in country requirements/limitations are adhered to
  • Implement a safe and reliable system for storing traveller data such as seat preferences, car registrations, and frequent flier membership numbers
  • Produce reports for the Head of Department and Group Financial Controller on travel spend by expense type, trip cancellations, and events
  • Ensure compliance in all aspects of travel procedures, including the monitoring of travel expenses
  • Proactively pursue and maintain, at all times, the most appropriate supplier relationships
  • Provide training to the wider employee base on the Company’s selected TMS
  • Register Executive’s for relevant travel reward programmes
  • Attend relevant conferences and events throughout the year


  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Corporate Travel Manager, or within a TMC (travel management company)
  • This is an extremely fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will display resilience, be incredibly organised and a born problem-solver
  • Used to working meticulously under pressure – excellent attention to detail is a must!
  • A team player with an impressive work ethic who is positive and upbeat
  • NFQ Level 7, or higher, education (or equivalent)
  • Experience of working in a complex, international and fast-moving environment
  • Knowledge of international travel regulations, customs and currencies
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and CTM/GDS solutions
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and negotiation skills
  • An analytical mind with strong business acumen
  • Customer-oriented approach
  • Capability to work independently and autonomously
  • Microsoft Office proficiency

Remuneration Package

€40,000 to €50,000 plus benefits
