About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for supporting the development, execution and maintenance of a Compliance Assurance programme and framework for a number of Business Units
• Senior role in Compliance oversight ensuring the development and consistent execution of Compliance Framework across these Business Units.
• Oversight and governance role for  Compliance matters both on an ongoing basis and for specific projects
• Responsible for Compliance reporting processes and communication to governance bodies and regulatory bodies where required and appropriate.
• Perform Compliance risk assessment in accordance with the approved Compliance Plan
• Foster and develop cooperation with other Risk Assurance Functions to achieve truly integrated assurance
• Report or prepare adequate reporting regarding progress against monitoring plans, significant results, as well as escalation of overdue issues
• Identify ways to further increase the effectiveness of the Compliance Program
• Ensuring appropriate Compliance controls mechanisms are in place and are tested robustly and in accordance with the  Compliance Plan
• Completing and delivering on projects which vary in scope.
• Dealing with escalations from the first line, providing practical advice on required actions and aligning with the Head of Compliance
• Design relevant training concepts/contents and ensure performance thereof
• Proactively engage with first line key stakeholders to advise on the design of Policies, Procedures, Systems and Controls

Experience/Requirements

• Relevant Degree ideally Law/Business related or equivalent commercial experience
• Minimum of 5+ years commercial industry experience preferably within a financial institution
• LCI Designate and holder of The Professional Diploma in Compliance (PDC)
• Strong understanding of EU Cross-Border Insurance regulatory environment (General Good)
• Knowledge of the law and practice relating to Financial Services and compliance with EU Insurance Directives and Regulations
• Previous involvement in Compliance projects, implementing reporting efficiencies and identifying key financial controls and mitigating actions
• Capability to coach and provide technical advice and counsel within a Global Compliance team
• Ability to present to both large groups and Executive Level personnel.
• Fluent written and spoken English language skills
• Willingness to study and obtain Regulatory mandated certifications as required
