For our Dublin office we are seeking a technically strong and solution-oriented Analytics and Reporting Specialist to join our IT Underwriting Non-Life Unit, which is part of the Group IT department and responsible for all applications in the underwriting area (Pricing & Modeling, Capacity & Exposure Management, Portfolio Management & Optimization).

In this role you will be responsible for the conception and development of analytics and reporting solutions, from design and development to testing, and last but not least for the support. This position includes not only development, but also analysis of the requirements and specification design.

About the team:

The team works closely with the actuary and the Cat modeling teams to define the enhancements required by the changes in the underwriting guidelines and support the underwriters during the renewal campaigns.

Key skills:

· Design and Development:

o In cooperation with the Business Experts:

      • Studying information needs, system flows, data usage and work processes
      • Investigating problem areas
      • Producing the required documentation (screen layout, business rules and other documentation)

o Developing Analytics and Reporting solutions

· Business analysis of the users requests

· Solution Testing, Installation and Support:

o Defining and executing unit and regression tests, as well as user support during acceptance tests

o Preparing the installation of the solutions

o Producing the required documentation

o Providing second level support

· Operations Improvements:

o Conducting systems analysis and recommending changes

About you:

As an Analytics and Reporting Specialist you have at least four years' experience in designing and developing analytics and reporting solutions, bringing along the following experience/profile:

· Proficiency in databases (SQL Server, TRANSACT-SQL, Oracle), data modeling, and performance tuning

· Experience in business analysis

· Good knowledge in “R” and Excel development is a plus

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Excellent communication and language skills in English (proficient verbal and in writing), as you will interact with the IT and the Business community on a daily basis

· High motivation and capable of working in a challenging international environment in across location teams

· Ability to work effectively both within a team and also independently

· Driven towards finding solutions and being responsive

· Experience in the insurance or reinsurance business is a plus

· A university degree or equivalent in Computer Science
