Telemetry Design Specialist
About the Company
Our client is responsible for providing water and wastewater services throughout Ireland and ensure all of their customers receive a clean, safe and reliable supply of drinking water.
About the Position
The successful candidate in collaboration with the Telemetry Services Lead will be responsible for establishing and implementing the Telemetry Design team to support the on-going Capital Investment Plan and ensure that the operating value is achieved. The Telemetry Design Specialist will be responsible for telemetry design specifications and standards, configuration, oversight, integration to the enterprise telemetry system, process development and implementation, control philosophies and commissioning sign off.
Key Responsibilities
Support Asset Planning and Asset Delivery to ensure that all new and upgraded sites have the required inputs to the enterprise telemetry system
Develop and implement process for Telemetry Design input on projects in line with the project delivery approach
Ensure that IW RAM policies and standards are applied for any new connections to the telemetry system
Input to the on-going development and improvement of RAM policies and standards via the relevant IW oversight forum
Liaise with all stakeholders across delivery projects including system integrators and Local Authority partners
Development of points and alarm configuration for new/upgraded sites prior to hand over to Telemetry System Support and NOMC teams
Signal to screen verification of new and upgraded sites
Ensure Quality Control is a primary focus of the team to drive reliability and consistency in the addition of new sites
Understand the goals and objectives of the telemetry programme and ensure that these are reached on target and compliant with industry standards
Act as SME for telemetry standards and application across the business
Establish high-level metrics to ensure that the telemetry design team is achieving the defined goals
Provide regular reports on regional operational progress
Manage the team, ensuring adequate capacity and skills/expertise to meet business requirements and to execute duties
Review system performance including health and safety requirements
Operate efficiently in tense and stressful situations
Demonstrate a reasonable level of self-sufficiency, combined with an awareness of the boundaries of own competence/authority
Experience/Requirements
A recognised technical qualification or equivalent work experience
5 years post qualification experience managing service delivery with a focus on safety and quality
Experience of leading teams in a process driven environment
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills required
High energy and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Proven track record of being a motivated and driven team player
Good general I.T. skills are essential and the ability to quickly learn new software packages and applications
Excellent relationship and client handling skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Remuneration Package
€60,000-€70,000
