Telemetry Maintenance Specialist

About the Company

Our client is responsible for providing water and wastewater services throughout Ireland and ensure all of their customers receive a clean, safe and reliable supply of drinking water.

About the Position

The successful candidate in collaboration with the Telemetry Service Lead will be responsible for establishing and running the Irish Water National Telemetry System. The Telemetry Services Specialist will be responsible for all ongoing maintenance of the National Telemetry system. Responsible to carry out preventative & reactive maintenance, fault finding, and system integrity monitoring. The role will involve managing a small team of technicians and also directing the work of 3rd party service providers .

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of the Telemetry strategy for Asset Operations, IT and Asset Management
  • Develop the telemetry work processes, working closely with the Innovation and Information teams in Asset Management
  • Establish high-level metrics to ensure that the telemetry programme is achieving the defined goals and objectives and ensure periodic review and reports of these metrics
  • Manage the proactive & reactive maintenance of Telemetry RTUs
  • Oversee the addition, removal, and modification of signals on existing RTUs
  • Ensure system integrity by directing signal to screen verifications following works on site
  • Work closely with on-site personnel & system integrators and develop strategic working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Identify patterns & common faults for continuous improvement
  • Provide regular reports on regional operational progress 
  • Manage the function, ensuring adequate capacity and skills/expertise to meet business execution requirements 
  • Review system performance including health and safety requirements
  • Provide assistance as needed to the Coverage Expansion team
  • Operate efficiently in tense and stressful situations

Experience/Requirements

  • 5 years post qualification experience managing service delivery with a focus on safety and quality
  • Experience of leading teams in a process driven environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills required
  • High energy and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Responsive with the ability to learn quickly
  • Strong IT skills are essential and the ability to quickly learn new software packages and applications
  • Excellent relationship and client handling skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Remuneration Package

€60,000-€70,000
