Bookkeeper Job Dublin 18 

About the Company

The client is a two partner, progressive boutique firm of Chartered Accountants, Business & Corporate Finance Advisers, Tax and Business Consulting specialists. Based in Dublin 18 adjacent to a busy Luas station and bus stops located within 5 minutes of their offices. The offices provide a bright and friendly environment in which to work, they have an excellent group of people across all financial disciplines working in this distinguished firm. 

About the Position

Assisting the partners and the Practice Manager with managing the daily accounts, the successful candidate will have experience within a professional working environment, ideally providing professional services to clients externally. 
This is a varied and fast-paced role responsible for the management and preparation of not only day-to-day activities within this practice but also preparing with
month-end accounting and reporting monthly packs. This is a progressive and distinguished practice with lots of great clients, it's an ideal environment to progress within. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Data entry to excel or to an accounting system (bank transactions, sales and purchases, journals, etc.);
  • Preparation of annual accounts including Profit & Loss, Cash flow Statement and Balance Sheet;
  • Reconciliation of all Balance Sheet figures, analysis of all Profit and Loss Account figures. 
  • Payroll administration and submission to Revenue;
  • VAT returns and reconciliation;
  • Data export and manipulation on excel, various transactions summaries/analysis on excel, comparatives to prior periods, to budgets, variances analysis;
  • Monthly management accounts and reporting packs to Partners;
  • Maintaining ongoing relationships with clients;
  • Debt collection; and preparing monthly management accounts for various clients


  • 3 years’ experience in a bookkeeping/accounting role would be preferable;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and time management skills;
  • Ambitious and a team player with an ability to work alone when needed
  • Motivated, show initiative and willing to learn;
  • Proficiency of excel and word; and
  • Experience in TAS Books, Sage Payroll, Quick Books, Surf Accounts Production or other relevant software packages.

Remuneration Package

Salary 40-45,000 DOE, hybrid working
