About the Company

My client is a global Biopharma group with a state-of-the-art campus in Dublin. They are currently expanding their Finance department and are seeking a Financial Accountant to join them on a permanent basis.

About the Position

The Financial Accountant position performs a key role within the finance team working with wider global finance team. The role has specific responsibilities for the critical European legal entities and, where applicable, supports the wider global team.
Preparation of financial accounts for monthly/quarterly/annual/statutory reporting is central to the role. The role involves a number of areas including banking/treasury, annual audit (local statutory), internal controls (SOX), tax (Corporate/VAT/Payroll), company secretarial and budgets & forecasting i.e., finance owner for specific legal entities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate financial accounting for legal entities and where applicable specific Luxemburg/UK/Irish/German/Netherlands legal entities
  • Preparation of accounting transactions/journals to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare under US GAAP with local GAAP adjustments as required
  • Support AP process from purchase order to processing of invoices in cooperation with AP team
  • Prepare monthly analytics with explanations on movements and balances
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
  • Proactive resolution of Inter-Company differences
  • Preparation of quarterly analysis and reporting templates for delivery to Consolidation/SEC reporting teams
  • Prepare/document accounting for complex non-routine transactions in both US and local GAAP
  • Support FP&A in preparing budgets/forecasts for key corporate functions
  • Support continuous improvement of processes, procedures, and reporting as well as proactive systems implementation/improvement using technology solutions
  • Tax Reporting: Requires significant level of work collaboration with internal/external tax teams
  • Prepare draft statutory financial figures or statements for review (GAAP to Stat adjustments) as needed: quarterly figures, annual accounts and adhoc interim statements
  • Prepare audit files for audited entities
  • Provide required financial information to external auditors


  • Qualified Accountant ACCA/ACA with a number of years post qualification experience
  • Audit experience
  • Financial Accounts and Corporate tax filing preparation
  • SOX experience
  • US GAAP, Irish GAAP and/or IFRS experience.
  • Excel proficiency
  • SAP knowledge is an advantage
  • Collaborator with strong levels of engagement with individuals and teams
  • Proactive in working with a wider team at a number of international locations
  • High levels of integrity and trustworthiness
  • High performing in meeting commitments
  • Analytical skills and sound judgment

Remuneration Package

  • Salary €60,000-€70,000 DOE
  • Target Bonus: 10%
