About the Company
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast growing Pharma start up, supporting the Formulation of new drugs. This client is seeing multiple new drug formulation projects coming in from it's international clients and new requires an experienced Formulation Scientist to bolster it's team.
About the Position
In this role you will be responsible for drug product formulation development projects for new chemical entities in support of (pre)clinical studies and stability studies. Formulations can be either granules, capsules, tablets, solutions, etc. Main tasks include project preparation, execution and reporting.
You will also be responsible for process optimisation & upscaling and will ultimately transfer the developed products to the client's GMP production area. You work closely together with the Lab Operators and you align with Project Management.
Proficient in carrying out all necessary formulation development (pre-formulation studies, laboratory scale studies, optimisation experiments) of different dosage forms, primarily OSD.
Hands-on experience in handling equipment employed in formulation development lab
Execute all lab activities in a safe and reliable manner in line with Pharmaceutical GLP/GMP and/or internal guidelines
Document all work as required by cGMPs on a timely basis
Write up trial batch records as required
Assist with all development activities as required
Patent literature survey and database search
Preparation of standard operating procedures
Master's degree or higher in pharmaceutical sciences/technology discipline
Minimum of 2+ years' experience in a pharmaceutical research and manufacturing environment
Solid state characterisation for oral dosage forms (SEM, Rheometer, etc.)
Basic analytical skills (UV & HPLC)
Competent in wet granulation, the use of fluid bed dryers, extrusion-spheroidisation and/or fluid bed (Wurster) coating processes and scale-up of these processes
Competent in formulation development techniques and interpretation of results
Transfer of scale-up process into production
Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
