Senior Group Financial Accountant 

A permanent opportunity has arisen to join the Finance team of our client a leading Irish project development business in the renewable energy sector. The successful candidate will provide financial, operational and project support to teams and colleagues operating in multiple jurisdictions. The role will report to the Financial Controller of the Group but will also work independently to support the project teams and CFO, as necessary. The role is Hybrid and will ideally be Cork, or Dublin based.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provision of assistance to the project teams as appropriate.
  • Coordination of procurement, expenses, budgets, and financial information.
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to ensure successful and on time delivery of financial reporting for the Group.
  • Effective communication to the management team, investors, and the broader group.
  • Oversea accounts payable, bank reconciliations and cash forecasting
  • Preparation of IFRS consolidated financial statements for the Group.
  • Assist in annual audit process for the company and project companies
  • Ensure full and timely compliance with regulatory, project and investor reporting requirements.
  • Review / assess contracts pertaining to underlying projects, such as shareholders agreements.
  • Assisting in financial system improvement projects aimed at streamlining finance processes and further enhancing the current financial reporting capabilities

Experience/Requirements

Knowledge / Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant, CPA, ACA, ACCA, min 3 years post qualification experience.
  • Experience within a group finance or in a financial controller role.
  • Experience in Renewables, Energy or Power is desirable, but not a necessity.
  • Detailed knowledge in IFRS, US GAAP and Group consolidations.
  • Excellent Excel and financial analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage workload autonomously and effectively.
  • Inquisitive, detail-oriented, self-motivated.
