Non Commercial State Agency based in Dublin. 1 year specified purpose contract. 

About the Position

The Risk and Resilience Manager is responsible for maintaining risk management, business continuity and emergency management functions. You will maintain and continually improve risk management and business continuity strategies, working with senior management to implement these strategies. Oversight and proactive management of the organisational risk register and developing and testing contingency and emergency planning as part of on going business development. The role also involves providing support to senior managers and Executive Management Team. 
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in coordinating business continuity and risk management at an organisational level.
  • Write and maintain policy papers, standard operating procedures and contingency plans as relevant to the areas of risk and business continuity planning.
  • Lead the organisation's risk management function from a timely and appropriate risk identification, mitigation and management perspective.
  • Embed the risk management approach in all areas across the organisation.
  • Work with the Chief Executive, Executive Management team and staff in the effective management of all identified risks.
  • Maintain risk registers through electronic risk management system.
  • Assist in drafting complex risk assessments relating to major decisions as part of a commitment to risk-based decision making within the organisation.
  • Produce reports, updates and briefings as required by Board, Chief Executive or Executive Management Team.
  •  Ensure that the business continuity plans in place for all aspects of IBTS activity are current and fit for purpose.

Experience/Requirements

  • Experience of involvement in risk management and/or business continuity and contingency planning.
  • Experience of working in a continuous improvement culture.
  • Experience in delivering complex multidisciplinary projects while communicating with authority to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the need for an evidence based approach to policy development and formulation.
  • Significant demonstrable experience working at management level within the field of risk management , preferably in the health service
  •  Experience of drafting risk assessments.
