JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As data scientist, you are responsible for participating in all phases of the design and development life cycle of analytic models, applications, and supporting tools, as well as providing consulting support to program portfolio sponsors.

Primary duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Design and execution of data science or predictive modelling projects to address specific business problems determined by consultation with business partners.
  • Direct development of proprietary algorithms to build customised solutions that go beyond standard industry tools and lead to innovative solutions.
  • Design, implementation, and continuous delivery of an insights data pipeline supporting the development and operation of custom analytic products/services across the organisation.
  • Develop and define application scope and objectives, including impact to interfaces.
  • Analyse and evaluate detailed business and technical requirements.
  • Mentor others on coding standards and performs code reviews.

The ideal candidate will have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Physics or related Quantitative disciplines. Master or Ph.D. candidates preferred.
  • Industry Experience (3-5) years. Start-Up experience preferred.
  • High proficiency and familiarity in Python, SQL, Machine Learning and Predictive methods. Strong python development experience.
  • Experience in predictive analytics.
  • Experience working across all facets of Data Engineering.
  • Ability to tell stories with data particularly with innovative visualisation methods.
  • Experience working with Cloud Based Systems such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Experience leading and managing diverse and remote teams.
  • Past Health Insurance industry experience a major plus.
  • Stakeholder Management across functional domains.
  • Experience working with cross-functional project teams and managing communications including in-person or virtual meetings is required.

Good to have Technical Skills

  • Experience in implementing production grade deep learning applications using PyTorch is preferred
  • Experience in Natural Language Processing and Image processing is highly preferred
  • Experience using Hadoop stack.
  • Experience working on AWS stack preferred.
  • Experience in ML Engineering/Ops preferred

Domain and industry knowledge:

  • Ideal candidate will have extensive experience with the creation and delivery of advanced analytics solutions for healthcare payers or insurance companies, including anomaly detection, provider optimization, studies of sources of fraud, waste, and abuse, and analysis of clinical and economic outcomes of treatment and wellness programs involving medical, or pharmacy claims data, electronic medical record data, or other health data
  • Experience with healthcare providers is a plus
