The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and supporting the SQL Server Data Warehouse structures, and provide guidance and assistance in the design and development and maintenance of Power BI reports and Tabular models.

This role will work very closely with the functional business units and in particular the IT-BI Team to analyse current processes and reporting needs, gather requirements and identify opportunities for business intelligence to help deliver business and organisation objectives. This role will lead on innovation and development whilst promoting and delivering best practice in the business intelligence field through Power BI.

Key responsibilities;

  • Work closely with our senior management team and business units to gain a knowledge of business opportunities and challenges and use BI as a mechanism to discover and visualise insights which can drive actions. 
  • Design, develop and maintain ETL solutions, ensuring the inbound/outbound data flows from/to multiple data sources/targets are efficient, accurate and consistent.
  • Create and maintain documentation of the ETL solutions and Data Warehouse structures.
  • Liaise with the DBA Team & IT Support to ensure correct data operations, integration points & data accessibility.
  • Design and develop effective interactive Power BI visualisations, dashboards, reports as per business needs.
  • Create and maintain the Tabular data models supporting the Power BI reports.
  • Implement data quality rules end-to-end across the whole analytics architecture.
  • Contribute to and enforce governance, standards, and best practise to manage the processes, technology and data for visualisation/analytical applications.

Experience required;

  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server stack (SSIS, Tabular SSAS, SSRS) and Transact SQL. 
  • Excellent knowledge of relational and dimensional Data Modelling and Data Warehouse design skills.
  • Strong SQL language experience with Microsoft T-SQL and SQL tools like Stored Procedures and Functions.
  • Experience in Power BI Development, including Power Query and DAX for complex measure development.
  • Good understanding of MS Office 365 productivity suite of applications.
  • Must have good experience translating business requirements and design into technical solutions.
  • Third party vendor and customer management experience.
  • Excellent project planning and project management skill.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments.
  • An appropriate 3rd Level Qualification.
