About the Company

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of Waterford's leading Life Science employers at their diverse manufacturing site.

About the Position

In this role you will provide essential support to all operational areas on site. You will provide support on risk management, change management chemical safety, a positive safety culture, contractor management and environmental initiatives.
You will also focus on the development, implementation and maintenance of EHS Management programmes at the site.
This is a full time, permanent position with a Hybrid work model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong working relationships with assigned business partners
  • Support and develop EHS systems, i.e. See and Act, SI (Site Indicators), legislation review, risk assessments, LOTO, Permit to Work and department monthly EHS meetings ensuring adequate support is given through business partners
  • Ensures assigned projects are managed in conjunction with all required and legal requirements (Health & Safety, construction, environmental etc.)
  • Manages development and training of site ERT, ensure legal compliance to fire and emergency legislation and Crisis Management
  • Incoming chemical assessments for each area
  • Ensure compliance to Occupational Hygiene monitoring programme
  • Develops, implements and continually improve assigned elements of the EHS programme for the Waterford site
  • Provides support and direction for all departments in Safety & Environmental issues
  • Support accident & incident investigations to identify effective preventative actions
  • Drive a Health & Safety culture not only within the site but also on-site capital programmes to deliver
  • Conducting Internal audits to ISO45001 and 50001 standards
  • Delegate for EHS Manager where required, which involves engaging with Site Leadership Team, delivering Safety stand-downs to ELG

Experience/Requirements

  • Degree in a Health and Safety discipline is essential, a further 3rd level qualification would be an advantage
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in pharma or medical device environment
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills as well as presentation skills
  • Demonstrated team player with experience contributing to multi-disciplinary project teams and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with aggressive timelines at a high level of productivity
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to take initiative and drive tasks to closure
  • Must have strong IT skills and experienced using MS Excel and Powerpoint

Remuneration Package

Salary is negotiable depending on experience and a strong benefits package is inluded.
