About the Position

The Functional Architect will join the organisation’s management team and will focus on proactively developing business capabilities across the enterprise systems ensuring that the overall corporate strategy can be fulfilled.

Acting as a partner between the business and technology you will develop a roadmap to implement the future operating model.

The successful candidate will have excellent technical knowledge in addition to being highly strategic with the ability to influence key senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business leaders to create functional solutions to business problems & opportunities.
  • Pro-actively identify capability gaps inhibiting business strategy & offer solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility assessments and high-level IT cost estimation for new business initiatives.
  • Provide leadership on direction needed to support strategic business needs into the future.
  • Scope definition, requirements, Functional Design & IT estimation for complex strategic projects.
  • Support IT delivery teams.
  • Identify key design decisions, provide design solution options and initiate design workshops
  • Take responsibility for product advocacy and advancement of functional architecture.
  • Monitor the IT solutions market, develop expert opinions on solutions.
  • Ensure adequate architecture governance processes, ensure adherence to appropriate IT standards and strategy.

Experience/Requirements

  • 3+ years of proven experience as a Functional Architect, preferably within Financial Services
  • 8-10 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst (Both Waterfall & Agile methodologies)
  • Track record of delivering large scale applications
  • Highly commercial and strategic with proven ability to drive and manage change
  • Demonstrable ability to think “outside of the box” and innovate
  • Comfortable challenging the ideas of others
  • Strong influencing skills, particularly with senior executives
  • Capable of working across borders and cross organizational boundaries
  • TOGAF certified (preferred)

Remuneration Package

€100,000 - €120,000 + bonus and benefits
